We have for sale an Antique Western Pottery Co. Denver Colorado, Bed Warmer
Wonderful find this 1920s stoneware bed warmer made by the Western Pottery Company of Denver Colorado. This is a unique find due to the fact the Western Pottery company was only producing utilitarian pottery for a short period between 1919 and 1929.
Imagine 1920 in Denver Colorado you needed a bed warmer.
History,
Originally known as Queen City Pottery 1892 till 1905, then changed to The Western Pottery Manufacturers Company from 1905 to 1919. In 1919 they changed their name to The Western Pottery Co. Denver Colorado. They stopped making utilitarian pottery in the around 1930 and started making decorative bright colored pottery dishes and art pieces, they closed in the 1960s. There has been a resurgence of new Western Pottery Co. Denver Colorado appear on the market, these are just that brand new, made to look old.
This should not be confused with the Western Stoneware Company of MaComb ILL. there is no relationship.
Circa, 1920s
Measures, 10 ¾” long, 5 ½” diameter. Weighs 5.12 pounds.
Marked, as shown, does show a little wear.
Condition, as found with original cork, couple minor chips at the end. Please see all pictures.
