Thank you for viewing our Store,
We have for sale an Antique 1920 Corona 3 Folding Portable Typewriter.
Wonderful find this 1920 portable size typewriter made by the Corona Typewriter Company of Groton New York. This is a Corona 3 Folding Typewriter with carry case Serial #328798
Just can't make this one up, it’s a 1920 Corona exactly 100 years old and we found it during the 2020 Corona Pandemic, how poetic.
The machine is as found minus a little dust, it needs a very good cleaning and tune-up. It appears to all be intact with a few scuffs and scraps and minor surface spot rust, the keys all work but a little sticky (tune-up).
Case is worn as shown, handle is strong and secure, the fold-down front has been taped shut. No Key.
This will make a worthy Corona Quarantine Project.
History side note,
Many famous people have used and still use these wonderful typewriters. In 1920 Ernest Hemingway wrote “For Whom the Bell Tolls” on a Corona 3 Folding Typewriter and today Tom Hanks uses his Corona still.
Circa, 1920
Measures, Case= 11 ¼” wide, 10” tall minus handle, 4 ½” thick. weighs 9 pounds.
