We have for sale a lot of 3 Vintage Pharmacopeia Products for first aid, cough suppressant and a laxative. Most have partial original contents and will be shipped protectively. FOR DISPLAY ONLY. Shelf life is likely long expired, and contents should not be considered usable as originally intended and marketed.

Pfeiffer’s Creacomp: “Soothing to the Mucous Membranes”. Bottle is full, 3 FL OZS.
Pitcher Castoria: “A popular laxative” “The Kind the Baby Likes”. Bottle is full – some of the liquid is solidified. 2 1/2 FL OZS.
Gold Medal lotionized compound: Like calamine lotion. Bottle is nearly full. 3 FL OZS.
History,
The professionalization of pharmacy began in St. Louis as early as 1864 with establishment of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, the oldest pharmaceutical school west of the Mississippi River. Adolph Pfeiffer flourished as a professional pharmacist. In about 1879, Pfeiffer opened his pharmacy in St. Louis at the corner of Broadway and Salisbury Street. He named his new company the S. Pfeiffer Manufacturing Company after his wife, Sadie. At about the time Adolph Pfeiffer was establishing his pharmaceutical company, there were 86 manufacturers in St. Louis producing patent medicines valued at approximately $4 million annually.
