We have for sale an Antique Woodworkers Marking and Mortise Gauge.
Wonderful classic English Mortise Gauge. Made from beautiful Mahogany wood with solid brass hardware. It is in wonderful condition and will make a fantastic addition to your collection. Has 3 inch rule on stem.
An English marking gauge features a single stem with an adjustable and is used to mark or scratch cut lines in a mortise layout. The gauge has two steel pins – 1 fixed, 1 sliding along with the stem. These pins are used to mark out double-parallel lines. The finest were traditionally made of ebony, rosewood or mahogany.
