We have for sale an Adlake Railroad Lantern, Southern Railroad
Wonderful Red Globe Adlake Kero Railroad Lantern made for the Southern Railroad lines rail yard. The lantern's lid is marked ADLAKE KERO, SOU.RY. Bottom of lantern is marked ADLAKE-KERO PATENTED USA CANADA.
The condition of this lantern is wonderful it was most likely never used. The burner and wick are unused, the red globe is solid with no chips or cracks. The lantern is known as an Adlake short globe lantern made after the 1930s.
The marking SOU. RY stand for Southern Rail Yard meaning the lantern was designated to be used in the railyard.

History,
The Southern Railway used the reporting marks of (SOU) it was a class-1 railroad and operated in the southern USA. between 1894 and 1982, when its name was changed to Norfolk Southern railroad.
