We have for sale an Antique Yerkes & Plumb Broad Axe, Hewing Broad Axe
Wonderful History behind this piece. I received this wonderful broad axe from a forest firefighter whom found it trekking through the forest one day in the Black Hills of South Dakota, Mount Rushmore Area.
The axe is made by the Yerkes & Plumb Edge Tool and Hammer Works of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. The axe dates to the mid-1800s
Axe head also has the Initials H.S. most likely the original owners.
Circa; 1860-70s
Marked; Yerkes & Plumb Cast Steel. Initials H.S.
Measures; Head 7 ½” blade, 9” depth, handle 36” long. Weighs 7 ¾ pounds.
Condition; lightly cleaned and oiled. Please see all pictures.
