We have for sale a Vintage 1933 Dietz Vesta Railroad, Kerosene Lantern, NYNH&H, New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad
Wonderful piece of American history red globed Railroad lamp made for the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad. This is the railroad J.P. Morgan owned. The lantern was made by the R.E. Dietz Company of Syracuse New York. The lantern is all original with 4 ¼” tall red globe with raised initials (NYNH&HRR). The overall condition is as found, we cleaned with soap and water and it is as found, scuffs and dings with light surface rust, has one dent on base of burner, the bend in the handle is supposed to be there it is part of the design. Just needs a good cleaning and a fresh coat of paint.
This lamp has a manufactured date S-10-33. Meaning made on October 10th, 1933 and the "S" means that the lantern was made in Syracuse at Plant #2.

History;
The New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad was formed on July 24, 1872, through the consolidation of the New York and New Haven Railroad and Hartford and New Haven Railroad. Operating from 1872 to 1968, dominating the region's rail traffic for the first half of the 20th century. Info from Wikipedia.
