Thank you for viewing our Store,
We have for sale an Antique Hand Painted Kutani Porcelain Bouillon Bowl
Beautiful hand painted Kutani porcelain bouillon bowl tea cup and saucer.
The depiction and style of the geisha girls and Mt Fuji are consistent with the Shoza style from the late Meiji period. We are not experts in dating Japanese porcelain so please inspect pictures closely as they are part of the description.
The pieces are in excellent vintage condition and show no obvious signs of wear. There is a small manufacturing flaw on the inside rim of the bowl near the right handle. The saucer has a few small bubbles in the center. Neither piece has any chips, cracks or crazing.
Mark is on the back of the saucer and is a gold rimed red circle with gold painted Japanese characters. The first two characters mean Kutani. We are unclear what the third character means.
This set would be a fabulous addition to a bouillon bowl or teacup collection or a unique gift for someone who likes Asian art or food.
Era: Appears to be from the late Meiji period (1910 – 1920)
Marked; As noted above
Measurements; Bowl: 5 ½” wide (handle to handle) with bowl circumference 4” x 2” high. Saucer: 5 ¾” circumference
Condition; These items are in excellent vintage condition. Please zoom into all pictures.
