We have for sale charming antique brass Swedish Sleigh Bell, Jingle Bell, Polar Express Bell. Found in Southern Minnesota.
Swedish bells are the largest of the horse bell world. Their size gives these bells a much louder, deeper "clanging" sound. Traditional Swedish bells are cast brass. They have a distinct ridge around the middle and a graceful tulip shape. Many Swedish bells (sometimes called Swiss or Norwegian bells) were made in America, and then exported to Scandinavian countries, where they were very popular.
Condition is pure vintage with lots of wonderful brass patina. No dents, chips or stress cracks.
The bell is 2.625” in diameter by 3” tall including the hefty shank. These larger bells were typically used on the rump strap of the horse. Please see all photos as they are part of the description.
Would make perfect decor for the Christmas holiday or winter season! Or embellish a special gift with a bell and ribbon.
