We have for sale an Antique English Brass Corkscrew with Button & Dusting Brush
Beautiful example of a mid-1800s English Corkscrew this is wonderful find it has solid brass shank with button and steel wire worm (corkscrew) rosewood handle with dusting brush and hanging loop.
Once you would have retrieved you wine from the wine cellar you would have used the dusting brush to clean the dust and dirt off the bottle. The brass shank on the corkscrew is made with a button or easer once the worm is inserted into the cork fully the button will give the cork a little twist breaking the seal and allowing the removal of the cork much easier. We have opted to not polish the brass but to leave the 150 years of patina

Era; 1850s
Measures; 5.5” long, 5” wide at handle.
Condition; Good with years of patina has a couple nicks in the wood handle and we believe the brush has been replaced at some point.
