We have for sale an Antique James Heeley & Sons 1888, A1 Double Lever Corkscrew
This is a patented version of James Heeley’s 1888, A1 Double Lever Corkscrew, This is one of my favorite corkscrews and if you have looked at our website you know I like corkscrews. Patented in 1888 by James Heeley of Birmingham England his corkscrew manufacturing business became one of the most productive producers worldwide. The Heeley family started doing business at the turn of the century 1800 last know record of the family corkscrew business was in the 1940s
This corkscrew is made of steel and was finished in a bronze-washed plating it will make the most amazing conversation piece at your wine bar as you explain it is nearly 130 years old and from England it is one of the first design of a double lever (two handle design) corkscrew and is in full working condition, the worm (corkscrew) is called a wire helix because it is fashioned from one piece of twisted wire .

Marked: James (Front side) Heeley & Sons 6006 Patented Double Lever, A1 Patent (Back Side) A1 Patent, does have the name Stacy stamped on the back not sure of the significance of this name.
Measures: 6 ¾ “ tall
Condition: very good for age, nice straight worm, has only a little bronze-washed finish remaining
