We have for sale a Vintage 1940s German Casige Childs Learning Size Sewing Machine
This is a wonderful Casige sewing machine with a beautiful bright red color. It is marked Casige Made in Germany "British Zone" on the sew plate, which dates it as just after WWII. Gesch.M 1449. This one is a little different than others seen it has an enclosed frame which covers the mechanisms, it is an earlier version of this design with only the Casige name and Logo on the frame. Condition is very good, a wonderful collector piece.

These size machines are not toys they were designed for children to learn how to sew, perfect size for making doll clothes.

Marked; CASIGE Made in Germany British Zone (Gesch. M 1449)
Measures: 8.625” wide, 5” deep, 7” tall
Condition is very good, with minor scuffs and scratches, does need a new needle (PLEASE zoom into all pictures).

History;
The Allied powers who defeated Germany in World War II divided the country west of the Oder-Neisse line into four occupation zones for administrative purposes during the period 1945 -1949. Since this machine is engraved British Zone, I would say it was produced during the Allied occupation. (This information was acquired from several different websites)
