Antique 1888 Greely Cork Puller, Cork Extractor, Corkscrew.
Must wouldn't have any idea what this is gadget is. It is an American Patented Benjamin Jones Greely Cork Hook or Cork Puller most major corkscrew manufacturers made some version of a cork hook the Greely design was different it has a groove cut in the back side of the shaft which allows air back into the bottle when inserted. The shaft is inserted alongside the cork with the hook turned as to follow the contour of the cork once in turn the hook 90 degrees and pull out the cork the groove allows air into the bottle releasing the pressure and allowing the cork to pull easier.
