We have for sale an Antique 1867 No 2 Roller Enterprise Cork Press
Made by the Enterprise Manufacturing Company Phila.
You wont see these very often, if you know someone that collects Apothecary items this is a must have.
You would have found these in drugstores and pharmacy’s in the 1800s you would place a small wet cork in the press lower the handle until the cork compressed to the right size then place cork into the bottle and the cork would expand and seal the bottle.
Enterprise made two sizes of these presses #1 and #2, the #2 is much larger.
Very nice piece with most of its original hand painted pin striping artwork
Dated Aug 7 1867.
Measures 12" long and 7" tall, Very nice condition for 150 years old, wood base is a little warped.
