Wonderful find, this compact and portable scale with counterweights.
This is a portable Equal-Arm Beam Scale for weighing Diamonds & Gold in a hinged mahogany wood case
The set includes 5-brass Karat counterweights 4,8,16,32, & 64 Karat weights. Two aluminum (DWT) counterweights 50/100 & 75/100. Three aluminum (C) counterweights 2-#1’s & 1-#2.
* DWT stands for pennyweight. It is used as a value of measurement.
* C stands for Carat, one of the four factors that determine a diamond's weight value.
Circa, 1920-40s
Measures, open 7½” tall, 7¾” long, 7” wide.
Condition, vintage with light wear on wood case.
