Antique 1930s JUSTRITE Carbide Lantern, Mining Artifact, Miners Lantern.
This is a wonderful Justrite carbide mining lantern in good clean condition with all the interior parts intact, made of all brass with steel handles. This lantern can be used as handheld or hanging. The reflector on this lantern is very large 7¼” diameter, which help it produce a greater amount of light.
The heyday of this type of light was from the turn of the century to the 1930’s. These were used in the coal mines for years. Lantern is marked on top (Justrite, Made in USA).
We have lightly cleaned the lantern it has no smell from the carbide and it’s ready to display or as an amazing gift

Measures, 8 ½” tall, 7 ¼” wide at reflector, 7” in depth.
Condition, reflector has dents and dings with finish lose.
