Antique 1855, LUND Single Lever Corkscrew, Wine Bottle Opener
Wonderful find, this antique corkscrew. Made in London England in approximately 1855 this is known as a single lever corkscrew made by William Lund and William Edward Hipkins, British Patent Number 736.

The handle is marked on both sides, (Improved Lever for Drawing Corks)
The worm (corkscrew) is marked (LUND PATENTEE LONDON) on one side and the other side reads (57 CORNHILL & 24 FLEET ST. LONDON).

This corkscrew was originally finished in a Bronze-washed plating. This was a common type of plating in England during the mid to latter part of the 1800s. This corkscrew still shows a small portion of the remaining bronze plating.
This corkscrew is more than a wine tool; it's a symbol of sophistication and a unique addition to your collection.

Circa, 1855- 1865
Measures, lever 8” long, screw 3¾” long.
Condition, old and still works wonderful.
