Rare Dietz Buckeye Dash Lantern
Wonderful find, this original Buckeye Dash Lantern made by the Dietz of New York, USA. This lantern was made in the Syracuse Factory #2, in September of 1926.
The Buckeye Dash Lantern had some special features, the rear reflector panel has a rear spring clamp to attach it to the dashboard of a horse drawn wagon. Also has a magnifier inside the globe to reflect the light farther and at a wider range.
This lantern has the original black paint (has not been repainted) with original burner and wick in very clean condition, inside of fuel tank is extremely clean, glass globe has no chips or crack (flea bite chips on top rim of globe from manufacturing).
History,
The Buckeye was produced from about 1895 into the 1940's in at least 5 different variations.
Circa, 1926
Measures, 13¼” tall with handle down, 7½” wide, 6½” in depth.
Condition, very clean, paint lose throughout.
