Antique 1880s Arcade Imperial Coffee Grinder
Wonderful Antique Coffee Bean Grinder made by the Arcade Manufacturing Co. of Freeport, ILL. This is an early version of the Imperial Mill, the base is made of wood with dovetail corner construction with a pull-out catch drawer. The upper section is made of cast iron with pivoting hopper door, the grinder can be adjustable to your bean grind, fine to coarse by twisting the metal knob at the top of the grinder. The grinder crank handle is also made of cast iron with a matching hardwood knob. We have cleaned this grinder inside and out, it works magnificently, all metal parts have been oiled with food safe oil.

History,
Founded in 1885, Arcade Manufacturing Co. made small cast iron machinery for home use, especially coffee grinders. They made coffee grinders from their inception until the 1930s. In 1946, Arcade was purchased by Rockwell Manufacturing Co.

Circa, 1880s
Measures, 7” x 7” square box, 9½” tall.
Condition, very clean condition, wood has a few nicks from age, back bottom edge has chip in wood as shown in pictures.
