Antique Arcade X-Ray Coffee Grinder
Wonderful find, this is the Arcade X-Ray Coffee Grinder or Mill, manufactured by the Arcade Mfg. Co. of Freeport, Ill.
This is a beautiful example the X-Ray grinder, lovely wood construction with dovetail joint corners, cast iron grinder and housing. To fill the hopper with beans rotate the cast iron lid at the top of the box, to clean the hopper the glass pane is removable. The grinder is fully adjustable to grind a course of fine ground, the wing nut which holds the crank handle on is the adjustment for the grinder loosen the wing nut and adjust the round nut behind it.
We have disassembled the grinder and thoroughly cleaned and inspected the grinding wheel, it is ready to grind that perfect cup of coffee.
The Arcade X-Ray grinders did not have the Arcade name on them they only had a round sticker on the glass, which was usually discarded.
You can purchase aftermarket replacement parts for these grinders.

Circa 1890s.
Measurements, 13” tall, 4½” wide without handle, protrudes 7¼” off wall.
Condition, nice clean condition, ready to use. Missing catch cup.
