Vintage 1940s German Casige Sewing Machine
Immaculate condition this miniature Casige sewing machine in a beautiful teal color. This is a fully functional sewing machine used to teach children to sew. The machine uses a single spool of thread creating a chain stitch.
It is marked, Casige Made in Germany "British Zone" on the sew plate, which dates it as just after WWII, 1945-49.
Condition of the machine is wonderful, comes in the original box (box is worn), instructions, hold down clamp, screwdriver, and spool of thread, sewing sample.
Instruction manual is in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Swedish, Danish, and Dutch.
History,
The Allied powers who defeated Germany in World War II divided the country west of the Oder-Neisse line into four occupation zones for administrative purposes during the period 1945 -1949. Since this machine is engraved British Zone,
I would say it was produced during the Allied occupation. (This information was acquired from several different websites)
Circa, 1945-49
Marked, CASIGE Made in Germany British Zone.
Measures, 9½” wide, 5½” deep, 7” tall.
Condition, wonderful and operates as intended. Instruction manual is worn and fragile, box is worn as shown.
Please see all photos as they are part of the description.
