Antique August Buermann Cavalry Spurs
Wonderful WWI, U.S. Cavalry spurs made by August Buermann.
August Buermann is one of the most well-known spurs American makers, who started making spurs during the Civil War and started his own company in 1866.
These spurs were most likely issued prior to WWI, they are made of Nickle-Plated Brass and stamped inside with U.S. & A.B. United States, August Buermann. The spurs are blunt end military spurs, with a 1¾” shank and the heel bands have a spread of 3” these also have every nice leather strap, buckles are permanently attached to spurs.
History,
August Buermann immigrated to the US from Germany in 1864 and enlisted with the US Army. He fought in the Civil War, in 1866 Buermann purchased a company and started making his own spurs. In 1926, North and Judd Tack Company bought the Buermann company.

Condition, spurs very nice condition, straps are newer.
