Antique 1880s Minnesota Stoneware 2-Gallon Crock
Wonderful piece of American pottery made by Minnesota Stoneware Company of Red Wing Minnesota. This lovely crock is known as the 2-gallon Cobalt blue (Lazy Eight Target) design, which dates to between 1880 and 1890.
This is (NOT) Red Wing Pottery. This is the Minnesota Stoneware Company which was in production from 1883-1895. It is one of the companies that merged to form Red Wing Stoneware. This crock pre-dates the Red Wing Stoneware Company.
This is an early Minnesota Stoneware crock they only marked the bottoms in early production period.
Circa, 1880s
Measures, 9½” tall, 10½” diameter at top rim.
Condition, nice clean condition, some stain spots, and chips on base as shown in pictures.
