Antique WWI Cavalry Spurs, Indian Head Nickle Rowls, WWI Trench Art
Wonderful WWI, U.S. Cavalry spurs, marked on the shank M. MFG. Co. 1914 and 1915
These are a true one-of-a-kind set of Spurs, they would have been originally manufactured with a small brass 10-point rowel, although during the war the Cavalry Soldier who owned these spurs switched out the rowels for Indian Head Nickels. True trench art from WWI.
Just for perspective, 5-cents in 1915 is compared to 153-cents today.
The spurs are made of nickel-plated brass with original leather straps. They have a 2” shank and the heel bands have a spread of 3¼” these also have the original leather straps and heel straps; buckles are permanently attached to spurs. Left spur is marked MFG. Co. 1914, Right spur is marked M. MFG. Co. 1914.
