1939 Northern Pacific Railroad Lantern
Wonderful Railroad Lantern made by the Adams & Westlake (Adlake) Company of Chicago ILL. The lantern was made for the Northern Pacific Railroad. It is marked on the lid (N.P.R.Y.) Northern Pacific Rail Yard.
The lantern is marked on the bottom with the manufacturer’s date 3-39.
The Red Globe is made of ¼” thick glass, later years manufactures only used 3/16” glass. The red lantern was used to signal STOP.
Circa, 1939
Measures, 9½” tall with handle down, 6¼” diameter at base.
Condition, has dents on lid and bottom, globe is in wonderful condition with some tiny chips on rim.
