1960s E L Railway Lantern, The Erie Lackawanna Railway.
Wonderful find, this red globe railroad lantern made by Adlake and made for The Erie Lackawanna Railway. The lantern is marked on the bottom with the manufacturers date 3-64.
The Erie Lackawanna Railway was only in business for 16 years.
The Erie Lackawanna Railway, known as the Erie Lackawanna Railroad until 1968, was formed from the 1960 merger of the Erie Railroad and the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad. The railroad ended its business in 1976 and most rails were sold to Conrail.
Lantern as found, nice clean condition, no notable damage. Marked EL on the hood rim.

Measures, 9¼” tall with handle down, 6” diameter at base.
Condition, nice condition.
