Antique 1920s Red Wing Union Stoneware 2 Gallon Crock, with 4-inch Red Wing Logo.
Wonderful early version Red Wing made by the Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. of Red Wing Minnesota. This is known as a 2-gallon Red Wing with 4” Wing with a Red Wing Union Oval. The Oval is known as the Standard #7 which came out around 1918.
We consider the two-gallon crock the perfect size for display in your kitchen.
Overall condition is wonderful, has a chip on the bottom edge (shown in pictures), also has the normal manufacturing blemishes.

History,
Red Wing / Union Pottery introduced the Red Wing Logo around 1906, it was first issued at 6-inches wide, then reduced to 4-inches, and then to the more common 2-inch logo.
The Blue Oval Logo at the base tells a more accurate timeline on when the crock was produced. This is a number 7 oval which was used till the early 1930s.
With the combination of the 4-inch wing and the number 7 standard logo, this crock dates around the 1920s.
