Antique 1800s Sterling Silver Roundlet Style Corkscrew, Wine Bottle Opener
Fabulous find, this 19th Century Sterling Silver Corkscrew. This is known as a Roundlet Style Corkscrew. Roundlets originated in the 18th century, and are still manufactured today, mostly in plastic sheath form.
This beautiful piece is an amazing find in excellent condition, with a sterling silver case and a Gold-Plated steel blade worm (corkscrew). It is marked Sterling and has a hallmark design of a Dragon or Griffin on the sheath. Heirloom worthy.
*Bladed worm (corkscrew). The corkscrew is designed with a sharp outside edge, this is to cut through the cork with ease and give maximum hold when pulling the cork.
Circa, Mid to Late 1800s
Marked, Sterling.
Measures, 2 ¾” long.
Condition, very nice condition light scuffs on silver and ware from use on gold-plating.
Please see all pictures as they are part of the description.
