Antique 1890s, Beer Advertising Bottle for Anheuser Busch with Hidden Corkscrew, Breweriana
Wonderful turn of the century 1800s Bottle Shaped advertising corkscrew for the Anheuser Busch Company.
The corkscrew was made by the Williamson Company of Newark New Jersey and was patented June 1, 1897. This bottle was made before the Patent date.
Unscrew the bottle and fold out the hidden corkscrew, screw the bottle back together to form a handle for the corkscrew.
The bottle is made of nickel-plated brass with a steel corkscrew.
History,
Why a corkscrew for beer? The bottle cap was not invented until the late 1800s by the Crown Cork Co. Baltimore and not highly used until into the early 1900s. Before the cap was introduced most all bottles had corks including Medicines, Perfumes and Alcohol.

Measures, 2 ¾” long.
Condition, excellent condition, minor scuffs on plating.
