Antique 1884 Wiers Compound Lever Corkscrew
What a wonderful find this 1884 Compound Lever corkscrew designed and patented by Marshall Arthur Wier of Surrey, England and manufactured by James Heeley & son.
This corkscrew is marked, Weirs Patent 12804, 25 Sept. 1884 and Heeley & Sons Makers.
These were manufactured in two versions, a nickel-plated finish and this beautiful bronze plated finish.
The condition on this corkscrew is wonderful and will make a wonderful addition to any collection.
Funny side note,
Wier name was spelled incorrectly on his corkscrews (Weir is incorrect) correct spelling is Wier.
Circa, 1884+
Measures, 4” wide and 5 ¼” tall Collapsed. 13 ¾” tall when extended.
Marked, Weirs Patent 12804, 25 Sept. 1884
Condition, used, good for age, nice straight worm, bronze finish is worn.
