Antique Pair of Mexican Charro Spurs, Heavy Iron Spurs, Western Spurs.
The Mexican word Charro means horseman or cowboy.
These are magnificent spurs made of hand forged iron with beautiful silver overlay designs covering the inner and outer heel band and inner and outer shank, also on the outer strap button.
The spurs have a larger 2½”- 8-point rowel, with a 1½” shank and the heal band / yoke has about a 3¼” spread. The spurs have a 7/8” outer button and a 3/4” inner strap button. These are a two-piece constructed spur, the head band and shank are made separately then welded together.
We have gently cleaned the silver overlay to inspect for damage. The silver is very solid and only shows light dings and scuffs from use, no missing silver seen. The straps are very old and fragile but solid, we have applied leather oils to loosen them up.
Circa, 1880-1910
