Antique Printers Typeset Ruler, Turtle's Standard Gauge Printers Ruler
Wonderful Brass Rule from days gone by. Made by Turtles of New York.
This Rule is designed to measure Points and Picas measurements in typeset parts and pieces used by printers.

Picas, pronounced PIE - KAH, are a typographic measuring system developed in 1785 by François-Ambroise Comprised of 12 Points, Picas are still the standard measuring system for typography today.

Circa, 1900-1920
Measures, up to 12” overall length- 13.625” long.
Condition, very good with natural patina. Back of rule was engraved with initials.
