Antique 19th Century Horse Tether Weight, Hitching Post Weight, Western Americana
Made by the Southwestern Iron Company.
A horse or buggy tether weight was used to keep the horse from running off if there was nowhere to tie the horse to,
these would be placed on the ground and the horses’ reins would be tied to them. This weighs just under 25 pounds.

Circa, 1880
Measures, 8 ½” diameter, 3” tall, 25 pounds.
Condition, as shown solid no cracks, surface rust.
We are located in the Southern Black Hills of South Dakota if interested in picking up.
