Antique Red Wing Union Stoneware Company Five Gallon Crock 4” Red Wing Pottery Logo
This is a wonderful crock and in great condition the perfect size for display in your kitchen or home, it is an original turn of the century crock and in wonderful condition has the 4” Red Wing logo.
Overall condition is wonderful Has no cracks, does have a couple small chip on rim and base as shown in pictures, and the normal manufacturing blemishes.
The five-gallon crock was used for several things including Pickling vegetables, making Sauer Kraut, even Fermenting Wine.

History,
Red Wing / Union Pottery introduced the Red Wing Logo around 1906, it was first issued at 6-inches wide, then reduced to 4-inches wide, and then to the more common 2-inch-wide logo.
The Blue Oval Logo at the base tells a more accurate timeline on when the crock was produced. This is the #7 design of the oval which was used approximately around the 1930s.
With the combination of the 4-inch wing and the #7 logo, this crock dates approximately between 1918 and 1920s.

Measurements, 13” tall, 13½” diameter at top rim, weighs 22.8 pounds.
