Antique Blue Ribbon Brand 10 - Gallon Crock, Buckeye Pottery Company of Macomb Illinois
Wonderful find this ten-gallon Blue Ribbon Brand crock made by the Buckeye Pottery Company of Macomb Illinois.
This is a stunning crock with nice clear blue cobalt logo, it is in wonderful condition with its normal manufacturing blemishes and a couple of chips on the bottom rim, Note-chips on the bottom are very common with this and larger sized crocks they are heavy, this beauty weighs in at 45 pounds.
History,
Dates of operation 1882-1938. The Buckeye Pottery was started by Joseph Pech and his sons. A migrant from Austria Joseph Pech settled in the town of Macomb in Central Illinois in 1880.
Circa, 1900-1910
Marked, Blue Ribbon Brand, Buckeye Pottery Company of Macomb Ill.
Measurements, 17½” tall, 15½” diameter at top rim, weighs 40 pounds.
Condition, very nice for age, has one glazing fracture, this is not a crack it is only in the grazing. Has a couple of chips on bottom edge (shown in pictures). Normal manufacturing blemishes.
