Wonderful Atlas Explosives Crate, made by the Atlas Powder Company of Wilmington Delaware, USA.
This crate is dated June 28, 1948
History,
In the early 1900s Du Pont was the giant in explosives and gun powder monopolizing the industry. In 1911 Du Pont Company was court ordered to break up its monopoly of explosives and gunpowder manufacturing business. The breakup resulted in the creation of two new companies in 1912, Atlas Powder Company took explosives manufacturing portion and Hercules Powder Company took the gunpowder portion of the business.

Measures, 15¾” x 13¾” x 10” tall.
Condition, nice clean condition, very solid.

I bought this beautiful old dynamite box to store and display some of my favorite records. The sellers pictures were perfect, describing the item in the exact detail as it arrived. Meticulously packaged for safe delivery, and shipped the day after I ordered it. The seller even provided some notes on the history of the item I purchased.
