Antique 1894 Royal Wall Mount Coffee Bean Grinder / Coffee Mill
Wonderful find the 1800s coffee bean grinder made by Royal. Interesting design on the Coffee Grinder, it is a wall mount grinder with a mounting bracket at a 45% angle to the crank handle which allows it to take up less wall space or be mounted in the corner of a room.
The grinder is made entirely of cast iron including the catch cup, except the wood handle. We have cleaned the grinder inside and out and oiled the grinder head with food safe oil. The grinder can be adjusted for bean grind preference, fine to coarse, by turning the flower shaped adjuster at the base of the handle.
Overall condition is particularly good seeing it is approximately 126 years old. The original black paint finish is worn throughout (it could be repainted if desired) the cast iron catch cup has a hairline crack down the frontside, but cup is still strong.
Marked on back with Patent dates, Pat April 15,1890 &June 5, 1894
