What an amazing find this antique French wine bottle corker made by Paul Gast. This is a hand operated corker made of cast iron, it is fully functional. The foot lever raises the bottle into the brass cork guide and the top lever arm raises the plunger to allow a cork to be set in the brass cork guide, lower the handle to insert the cork.
The green label at base is most likely the seller's brand and name, Paul Gast.
Marked, (C P) meaning Commission Paritaire (Joint Commission).
The Corker has been painted black at some point, the original color was green.
