Antique 1930s Justrite Carbide Lantern, Mining Artifact, Miners Lantern

Antique 1930s JUSTRITE Carbide Lantern, Mining Artifact, Miners Lantern.
This is a wonderful Justrite carbide mining lantern in good clean condition with all the interior parts intact, made of all brass with steel handles and hanger. This lantern can be used as handheld or hanging, the large hook at the top is used for hanging the lantern and has a very sharp end for sticking it into a wood beam in the mining tunnels. The reflector on this lantern is very large 7¼” diameter, which help it produce a greater amount of light.
The small brass tube accompanying the lantern has Tip Reamers inside, these are for cleaning out the ceramic burning tip on the lantern, a very rare find.
The heyday of this type of light was from the turn of the century to the 1930’s. These were used in the coal mines for years. Lantern is marked on top (Justrite, United States of America).
We have lightly cleaned the lantern it has no smell from the carbide and its ready to display or as an amazing gift.

Measures, 8 ½” tall to top of handle, reflector is 7¼” diameter.
Condition, Amazing condition with scuffs and scratches from use. The reflector has a couple spots where the chrome finish has worn off.
