Antique 1880s Clothes Drying Rack.
Beautiful antique drying rack made by L. Hopkins of North Girard PA. This is the Perfection Clothes Drier, Patented August 30th, 1887.
This is a wall mount drying rack made of wood with cast iron hardware, which features 8-wooden bars that separate to any angle you need. The rack collapses against the wall for storage, to use lift the bars up and the wall mount plate hinges and locks into place, to collapse bring all the bars in the forward position slightly pull outward on the hinged bracket underneath the hanging rods (Do not pull-on wood tension slate).
Each wooden bar measures 23" with 20½” of hanging space for clothing.
The overall width can be up to 49” wide and protrudes 25” off the wall with bars straight out. With all bars in storage position rack protrudes 2½” off wall.
A truly wonderful and useful display piece. The rack easily attaches to the wall with screws (not supplied), should be attached to wall stud.
The white piece of wood which the rack is attached to is for photo purposes only.
Condition, As found, very nice condition.
