Antique 1902, Swayzee’s Half Gallon Preserve Jar

We have for sale an Antique Swayzee’s Half Gallon Fruit Jar.
Wonderful find this ½ gallon fruit jar made by the Swayzee Glass Co. of Swayzee, Indiana. This is a blue glass jar with a fleur-de-lis design between
SWAYZEE’S and IMPROVED names, this design was released around 1902.
Jar is marked 1 on bottom, lid is also marked 1 on inside, jar has a light texture on one side this is from imperfections in the mold, also has bubbles in the glass very common for this era.

History,
The Swayzee Glass Co. had a short but distinctive history, opening in 1895 and specializing in fruit jars until the Ball Brothers purchased the factory in 1906. The plant marked its fruit jars with the Swayzee name.

Circa, 1902
Measures, 9” tall x 4½” diameter at base.
Marked, Swayzees Improved Mason
Condition, very good with no cracks, light scratches on outside and base, couple tiny flea bite chips on rim.
