We have for sale an Antique 1940s Auto Lite Carbide Miner’s Brass Lantern, Mining Artifact.
This is a wonderful Auto Lite carbide mining headlamp made by the Universal Lamp Co. of Springfield, ILL. The Lantern is in good clean condition with all the interior parts intact.
Heyday of this type of light was from the turn of the century to the 1930s.
These were used in the coal mines for years; they are designed to hang on the front of a miner’s hat.
Circa, 1940s
Marked, Auto Lite, Made in USA
Measures, 4 ½” tall, reflector is 4" diameter.
Condition, fair condition. has a couple dings, reflector discoloration.
