We have for sale an Antique 1916 Dietz Junior Wagon Lantern with Magnifier Globe.
Wonderful find this Wagon Lantern made by the Dietz Company of New York.
Yes, a Wagon Lantern, made to clip onto the side of your horse drawn wagon so you could see at night. The lantern has a Magnifier Lens inside the globe which reflects the light forward and a red lens on the backside of the lantern to illuminate a red glow behind the wagon.
This Dietz Junior has Sanskrit embossed on the tank, which translates "Real Dietz-Made in America".
This is a true barn find and all original, we have cleaned off the years of dust and it is ready for restoration of display as is.
History,
The Dietz Wagon Lantern was made from 1912 to 1915 with dash clip and left side bracket. It was renamed Junior Wagon Lantern in 1916.
Circa, 1916
Marked, Dietz Junior Wagon Lantern, Sanskrit.
Measures, 12” tall, 5¼” diameter at base, 7” wide across back.
Condition, good, all glass is solid no cracks, with paint lose and couple dents and dings, small flea bite chips on rim of globe.
