Antique 1800s Chilean Huaso Stirrups
Wonderful collection of 19th Century wooden Huaso stirrups. These are original hand carved and chiseled tapadero style stirrups with forged steel hardware. Each stirrup is very unique with its decorative carvings and the forged stirrup are decorated with unique designs and silver inlay.
This collection is a rare find.

History,
Huaso, a Chilean horseman who works to round up cattle grazing over large areas. The idea of the Huaso is like the American cowboy or the Gaucho in Argentina, and the figure of the Huaso on horseback dressed in a traditional poncho and hat is an important part of Chilean folklore.

Measures, 7” tall x 7” to 9” long
Condition, Wood has distress cracks and wear as shown, Sold AS IS.
