Thank you for viewing our Store,

We have for sale a Vintage Marshall Pottery Two Gallon Crock
Wonderful and unique crock made by the Marshall Pottery Inc. of Marshall Texas. This is a two-gallon crock with a unique color a pinkish / red hue. Marshall pottery produced a wide range of utilitarian items other than crocks one being terracotta flowerpots, I am assuming that the color of this crock is due to having the red clay from the terracotta mixed in with the white clay for the crockery. I’ve never seen one like it very unique. The second crock in the pictures this only to show the color difference.
Overall condition is very good no chips or cracks, has a couple normal manufacturing flaws.
I have always considered 2-gallon crocks the perfect size for display and collecting.

History,
W.F. Rocker started Marshall Pottery in 1895, in East Texas. In 1905, the business was sold to Sam Ellis, but by the 1920s it was close to closing its doors. Ironically, Prohibition saved the business from going under with the sale of liquor being banned, the moonshine industry exploded, and the need for inexpensive jugs in which to store it was in great demand. It’s been said that if not for the sale of these jugs Marshall Pottery would have ceased to exist. Marshall Pottery finally closed their doors in 1998.
