Western Stoneware Company Two Gallon Stoneware Crock.
Wonderful 2-gallon stoneware crock with dark blue cobalt labels made by the Western Stoneware Company of Monmouth, Illinois. This crock is in wonderful condition with vivid markings it will display beautifully in your home. I have always considered 2-gallon crocks the perfect size for display and collecting.

History,
The Monmouth Pottery Company of Monmouth, Illinois started in 1892 was in operation until 1905 when it was sold, it was soon to become one of the seven plants of the Western Stoneware Co. in 1906. The original maple leaf logo was used by Monmouth and continued with the Western name. Western was made in seven locations, 2 in Monmouth Illinois, 2 in Macomb Illinois, White Hall Illinois, Clinton Missouri and Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Measurements, 9 ½” tall, 9 ¼” diameter at top rim, weighs 9.8-pounds
Condition; Very good with no cracks, one small chip on back at bottom, two small open-air pockets from manufacturing at top outer rim.
