Thank you for viewing our Store,

We have for sale an Antique Wilcox and Gibbs Sewing Machine with Case and Attachments.
This is one of the first portable electric sewing machines produced in the United States, made by the Wilcox and Gibbs Sewing Machine Company New York N.Y. Wilcox and Gibbs started manufacturing sewing machines in the late 1850s. This design machine was produced as a Hand Crack Machine, Treadle Foot Pump Machine and an Electric Machine. This is a single thread machine that produces a chain stitch.
We have thoroughly cleaned and serviced this machine it runs exceptionally smooth; it comes with several attachments and the owner’s manual. We have tested the machine and it sews nicely. We have not tested all the attachments. The machine also comes with sewing light, which was a factory add on, the cord on light separates as shown for storage. Serial number A731501

MACHINE Condition is very good runs and operates smoothly and produces a nice clean chain stitch. It does have some paint chips through-out the machine and motor which are very common with this old of a machine (please zoom into pictures). The electrical cords are original and show wear (these should be replaced at some point).
CASE Condition, case is the original made of fabric covered wood construction with the Wilcox and Gibbs logo, it shows wear as shown in the pictures, but very solid and sturdy, the top of case has a taped-on label, we believe this was from the factory when it was first shipped. It can be removed.

The chain stitch sewing machine was in beautiful condition and the packaging of the sew machine was excellent. The shipping was good and the box came was in great shape. I’m very pleased with this company and will probably do more business with them in the future.
