We have for sale an Antique Fairbanks Beam Scale
Wonderful antique beam scale made by the Fairbanks & Co. of St. Johnsbury, Vermont.
This scale is commonly called a balance or beam scale, the more accurate name is a Roberval Scales,
a Roberval scale is an equal-arm beam with the pans above the beam
This scale would have been used in a laboratory or apothecary it measures grams and grains.
The scale is all original with brass pans and brass slide gram weight, the pinstriping is vivid and good for age.
Circa,1920s
Marked, Fairbanks
Measures, 14 ¼” wide, 7” tall, 6” depth. Each pan is 6” diameter.
Condition, Very clean normal wear on finish and discoloration on brass. Not tested for accuracy.
