Thank you for viewing our Store,
We have for sale an Antique Elkhart Brass Fire Extinguisher
Wonderful Fire Extinguisher made by the Elkhart Brass MFG. Co.
We found this lovely Fire Extinguisher in central South Dakota; it still has the pressure test label on the side from February 1972 issued by Jim’s Fire Equipment of Yankton South Dakota.
This is a copper tank Extinguisher with beautiful brass raised letter labels. On the backside it has beautiful rivets running up the seam and a hanger for attaching to the wall. It has been emptied and rinsed out thoroughly, the top does easily unscrew, and the chemical bottle and holder are still in place.
This will make a wonderful display item for years to come.
History,
Elkhart Brass MFG. Co. was founded by Albert E. Hansen who immigrated from Norway in the late 1800's. In 1902, Hansen moved to Elkhart, Indiana, where he built a foundry, hired ten employees and began manufacturing firefighting equipment under the name Elkhart Brass Mfg. The company is still in business today.
Circa, 1920-30s
Measures, 23 ½” tall, 7 ¼” diameter at base.
Condition, good with damage at base shown in pictures, handle on bottom side has rust. Please see all photos as they are part of the description.
