We have for sale an Antique Susan R. Knox Fluting Iron
Hand Crank Fluting Machine for applying flutes to cuffs and collars in the 1800s. These make wonderful display items and conversion pieces.
Made of cast iron with brass flute rollers and wood a handle. This style fluting iron is designed to hold hot steel rods inside the brass rollers these heat the rollers for ironing.
Patented by Mrs. Susan R. Knox, November 20, 1866, and manufactured by H. Sauerbier & Son, Newark, NJ.

Circa: 1860-70s
Marked, unmarked
Measures: base 8” depth x 11” width. Approx. 9” tall, weighs 12 pounds.
Condition: Very good for age, no cracks or damage seen. Original pin stripping is gone and it may have been painted at some point.
